Robotic Fish Solve Water Pollution?
Thursday, March 19, 2009
Have you ever imagine fish cleaning polluted water? Nope... Well, believe it. It's a robotic fish (not from transformers movie) that will eat evil pollutants.
Robotic fish, developed by UK scientists, are to be released into the sea for the first time to detect pollution.
The carp-shaped robots will be let loose in the port of Gijon in northern Spain as part of a three-year research project funded by the European Commission and co-ordinated by BMT Group Ltd, an independent engineering and risk management consultancy.
If successful, the team hopes that the fish will used in rivers, lakes and seas across the world, including Britain, to detect pollution.
The fish, which cost around £20,000 to make, will measure 1.5 metres (1.6 yards) in length (roughly the size of a seal) and swim at a maximum speed of about one metre (1.1 yards) per second. To believe this, check out the following video
The video bellow shows a different kind of fish, which I believe originates from Japan. I'm not sure of it's function.

I always asked myself how much we care about our environmental? To create something to control our environmental will only create another pollution. The basic is teach us to concern about environmental and educate our child about this. I hope to be greenpeace team..hahaha

I have some ideas. I think the biggest source of water pollution is Industries. Who are releasing large amount of hazardous waste into our water resources. In order to do proper treatment of this waste water consultant like JNB must be contacted. About the waste that are producing through our daily usage. I think ordinary peoples are not a selfish as our bureaucrats. We can control it by spreading knowledge about it. Agriculture pollution is also a major problem. By using proper methods we can control it. Imagine a world for our future generations if it continues. I agree things are better in USA or other European countries but In Asian countries it is worst and since countries is in this world we should also consider them. We are the one who are responsible for destroying our world and we have to make it better
